From time to time, many of you have received emails or texts that appear to be from our priests or deacons.  They will ask for financial assistance in some way, usually gift card, often claiming we are trying to help someone out.  Often they will ask you not to call but simply to respond to the email or text.  These emails or texts are NEVER from our priests or deacons.  They will never ask you to send them money through email or text and we will NEVER ask you to buy them gift cards and send them the gift card info.  Please ignore these emails or texts that appear to be from us (they are always from other email accounts or phone numbers).  Sadly, there is no effective way of preventing these; they are a danger in our digital age.  Some people will always try to take advantage of your generosity and kindness.
